Winter is just around the corner—really, it’s just waiting on the doorstep—so now is the perfect time to get your Lincoln ready for the winter season by making sure you’ve got the right tires on, everything is well-maintained, and you’re ready to face the snow, sleet, and ice. Of course, the weather is much easier to deal with if you have one of our all-wheel drive-equipped Lincoln models, like the Lincoln MKX (featuring available AWD) or the Lincoln MKC (also with available AWD). What’s on your Winter Car Maintenance Checklist? Here are some of the things we can help you do to prepare for winter if you bring your Lincoln car, crossover, or SUV into our Service Center:

  • Tires—The Cleveland area is no stranger to big snow storms and heavy winters, so it makes sense to invest in a set of winter tires. Having large treads can give you better traction in winter conditions, making you safer out on the roads. Another thing to be mindful of in the winter—because air pressure drops when it’s cold, your tire pressure is going to drop, too. Keep an eye on your tire pressure and make sure they’re adequately filled. Proper tire pressure can often be found on a sticker near the driver’s door, but we can also help you with this here in our Service Center.
  • Engine & Brakes—Your brakes and your engine go through a lot, winter or no winter, but the snowy season can certainly take its toll. It’s prudent to check up on your engine fluids, like coolant and oil—as well as any brake fluids, to make sure they’re at or above the minimum before undertaking any winter driving. Your engine tubes and brake lines should also be checked by a professional to make sure there are no pre-existing cracks or signs of damage or stress.
  • Wiper Blades & Accessories—During a whiteout snowstorm, your wiper blades are two of the most crucial pieces of equipment on your vehicle. At any given time, your wiper blades should be able to clear your windshield in one swipe—if they can’t, it’s time to replace them. Dried, cracked, and brittle wiper blades will do you no good in a storm, so protect yourself out there and make sure your accessories are up to snuff, too!

Winter is not only a great time to catch up on some of the regular service and maintenance that may have fallen by the wayside during the rest of the year, it’s also a great time to pick out a new daily driver for yourself, if you’re in the market.
